📚 DAY 14 OF 90 — COPYWRITING TRACK
The Fear Flip
Most Nigerian buyers don't buy because of what they want. They buy because of what they're afraid of losing.
A mother doesn't buy a school lesson plan because she wants her child to learn. She buys because she's afraid her child will fall behind.
The Fear Flip: Find the fear underneath the desire. Write to that fear first. Then show your product as the escape route.
📝
Today's task: Pick any Nigerian product. Write two versions of the opening line — one desire-based, one fear-based. Send both back here.

Okay here is mine — it's for a Lagos data plan bundle:
Desire: "Get fast, reliable data at the best price in Lagos."
Fear: "Don't let your data run out in the middle of a client call again."

🤖 AI COACH FEEDBACK
✅
Strong: The fear version is specific and situational — "client call" creates a real, embarrassing scenario the reader has lived. That is exactly what makes fear copy land.
⚠️
Improve: The desire version says "best price" — that is a claim every data provider makes. Replace it with something only you can own. What makes this bundle different?
💡
Pro tip: Combine both. Lead with the fear to grab attention, then pivot to the desire as the payoff. "Don't let your data run out in a client call again — our 30-day bundle keeps you connected at ₦2,000 flat."

This is so useful. I never thought about the fear underneath. Going to rewrite all my product captions this weekend.
